Vintage Collection

Kodak Six-20 Brownie model- C

The camera takes 6x9 pictures on 620 film (hence the name, "six-20"). This is about as simple as a roll-film camera gets. it's just a metal box with a winder for the film, a window in the back for a frame counter & a fixed-aperture lens with a single- speed shutter operated by a simple spring. It was made between 1946 and 1953 & was made in London.

$15 at the local school market, it is well used & is missing the leather handle on the top.

i will not be limited to just cameras. this is the second item in my collection the other is a slide machine. everyone knows 3 items make a collection so the third item is the glass jug above, it is also made by Kodak [Kodak Australia] & was used in a dark room.

Blogtoberfest day # 10

Collecting or hoarding what ever you like to call it, we all do it to some extent
Jacqui over at Life in the Dome was just talking about her collections

on thursday i decided i would start to spring clean one room a week, so i started with my bedroom
& what you may ask this has to do with hoarding well the amount of stuff i had been hanging on to is just crazy
so started the piles, 1 to the recycle, 2 to the bin, 3 to Vinnies & 4 to give to family/friends
after my room was mostly finished  [still have to wash the curtains & clean the windows]
i continued on through the house with the vacuum.
the last room in the house to vacuum is my craft room, this room i have been trying to sort out ever since we moved in, its just crazy the amount of stuff in it, boxes that i haven't even opened as well as lots of stuff that gets dumped in here out of the way.
this room is all about small steps. a couple of weeks ago i cleaned out all of my craft/country magazines got rid of a few on freecycle but most were still sitting there, some due to non pick up. they have been added to the vinnies pile.
my white kitchen dresser [some may have seen in earlier posts] does house my fabric in the top glass door section but down the bottom it was jamed full to over flowing with jugs, bowls & lots of other collections from my kitchen.
the time had come to bite the bullet & pass these items on the others, you can only have so many things before it just becomes stuff to fill up cupboards.

these are just a few of the boxes that will be finding their way down to vinnies

this room still has a long way to go
the problem is that i don't just do 5 or even 6 different crafts, the number is limit less because there is always something new to learn & have a go at & that's where most of the stuff comes from.

My Place & Yours

My Place & Yours
this week is all about Collections
what do i collect, well if you ask my family its all junk & there is just too much of it
oh well i like them & thats all that matters

one of the first collections i started were ceramic jugs, i now have quite a few different kitchen collections. one of them is Rolling Pins, when ever i find a new one it makes me think about all those pie crusts it has rolled out, i have used some of them but my fav is the glass one, it has a nice heavy even weight & rolls pastry beautifully.

i have been collecting Bee Hives for a number of years in the form of honey pots, i also have an old green hive out the back, oh & an abandoned wasp nest [it feels like paper]. these are my fav three

Badges are a new collection from the past year, they are fun & cute & make me smile :o)

Blogtoberfest day 17

A & i walked down to a garage sale this morning & i picked up this Willow Sifter for $3
now i have four so its definitely a collection now

we took some bread down for the chooks & i took 7 eggs out from under Miss Brown.
met the guy up the back & gave him 5 eggs & in return he gave me an arm load of rhubarb & also dug up two bulbs for me to plant.
who ever said doing something nice for someone doesn't pay you back twice as much
now what can i make, keeping in mind i no longer have an oven............
